A community gathering will be held on Friday, February 12, from 12:15 – 12:45 PM at All Souls to mark the one-month anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. The non-denominational service will include music provided by cellist Mark Fraser, as well as readings and a tolling of the church's bell.
This is not a fundraiser, but rather a community gathering to mark the one-month anniversary. The event is free and open to the public. No donations are necessary.
"People here – and all over the world – have really stepped up to help meet the needs in Haiti. That part has really been amazing," says organizer Eve Brown-Waite. "We hope our gathering will provide some ministry or community for people to share their feelings about what's gone on over the last month, or at least to know they are not alone if they are having strong feelings of grief or helplessness. We also want to let the people of Haiti know that we haven't forgotten them. We know their needs are ongoing. And we want to spiritually nourish and rejuvenate ourselves for the continued work of supporting our brothers and sisters in Haiti." |
