Any
adult who feels she or he is in harmony with our
purposes and principles is welcome to sign our
membership register and become a member of All Souls
Church. Orientations are held twice a year. All
members receive the Clarion,
our monthly newsletter, and The World, a
bi-monthly magazine published by the Unitarian
Universalist Association.
All
Souls Church is operated and financed by members and
friends that make up our community, and we depend on
each other to raise the funds that are necessary to
maintain the viability of our community. The church
building requires heat, electricity, insurance,
maintenance and cleaning. The operating budget for
these, payroll for our staff, and other expenses is raised by our members
and friends through annual pledges and weekly
contributions.
As
members of a "faith community," we are all
expected to contribute to our community to the best
of each one's ability. Contributions include both
our time and our treasure. In the spring of each
year, the All Souls community runs an annual pledge
drive in which each member unit makes an annual
financial commitment. This commitment may be paid in
a variety of ways: annually; monthly; weekly or by
individual arrangement. The purpose of the pledge
request is to give the Finance committee a
"target' figure, so that we can plan the budget
for the next Church year that runs from July 1st
through the following June 30th.
