Committees and teams are where much of the work of All Souls gets done, and there are lots of ways to get involved at All Souls. If you're interested in our beautiful old building, you could join the Building & Grounds committee. If you like to cook, consider helping prepare and serve at The Stone Soup Café. If you have financial expertise, a green thumb, or a desire to work for justice, there’s a committee for you!

Greenfield, MA – On April 26, 2025, the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church will host an essential gathering titled "Building Beloved Community Beyond the Binary," aimed at fostering inclusion and support for transgender and intersex individuals, friends, families, and allies within the Unitarian Universalist (UU) faith an beyond. This significant event is a part of a broader initiative that underscores the church's commitment to diversity and community-building.
The concept for this transformative conference originated from the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Syracuse, New York, which has been hosting the annual gathering since 2017. This event supports spiritual growth and creates a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ members and allies to come together and share their experiences in an increasingly challenging climate. With recent surges in anti-trans legislation across the nation, the need for a supportive community has never been more critical.
The conference will be streaming in collaboration with Syracuse, New York, UU, designed to engage participants both in-person and online, reflecting the UU values of inclusivity and accessibility. Attendees can expect an inspiring keynote speaker, interactive workshops led by community members, and opportunities for networking with congregations from across the country.
This year, the keynote speaker is an educator and advocate specializing in LGBTQ workplace, healthcare, and educational inclusion. For over 30 years, he's shaped policies supporting trans rights and brings deep expertise and lived experience to his presentations. The workshops will be tailored to encourage dialogue and creativity around themes of gender identity and community resilience. Local participants, alongside congregations gathering remotely, will be invited to engage with State Action Networks and other local allies, ensuring that the programming reflects regional issues.
"The aim of this conference is not just to support trans and intersex individuals within our congregations but to reach out and embrace those who may feel marginalized within their communities. "We believe in creating a space where everyone can feel welcome and empowered.
As the All Souls Church prepares to host this pivotal event, the leadership and congregation extend an open invitation to everyone—members of the UU community and beyond—to join in this meaningful dialogue. Together, participants will engage in conversations about acceptance, healing, and the transformative power of community.
